Floor heating probe

Floor heating probes detect the flow and return temperature at the pipes of the floor heating system. Heated water is led through these pipes in the floor and transfers its thermal energy to the room through the floor surface.

Correctly set flow and return temperatures are essential for the efficiency of the entire heating cycle. If the flow temperature is too low, the room will not get warm. On the other hand, if it is too high, too much energy is wasted, causing unnecessarily high heating costs. Cable sensors from Testo Sensor are particularly qualified for temperature detection in floor heating systems.

Technical requirements for Floor heating probes

Floor heating probes installed in underfloor heating systems must be cost-effective and at the same time of high quality and durability to achieve a long service life of 15 years. Throughout the lifetime of the sensor, it has to measure within the specification with long-term stability. Due to the location of the sensor in the application, it is mandatory that the probe has an adequate degree of protection (IP68) and is moisture resistant.

Design for Floor heating probes

Floor heating probes, i.e. fully overmoulded cable sensors with TPE coating are used in floor heating systems to ensure long-term stable reliability. Platinum sensors or thermistors can be used as sensors. According to your specifications, the cable sensors are made with cable and wire end sleeves or the appropriate connectors. We would be pleased to advise you on your application or your individual specification and then suggest an appropriate, qualified temperature sensor type.
